Meet Your Neighbor Bill Henderson

Bill was born and raised in Monmouth County, New Jersey in a town called Colts Neck.  He is from a large family, one of 7 children and 45 first cousins.  While his Dad had a career in the financial markets and his Mother was a stay-at-home Mom, both were actively involved throughout their lives in charitable causes and instilled in their children that success in life is measured by how you serve others.

It was with this foundation Bill went on to graduate from Fairfield University and Georgetown University Law School.  After law school while living in Washington, DC, Bill met his wife, Elizabeth “Beth” Parker, who grew up in Richmond, Virginia.

For the last 27 years, Bill and his wife Beth have made Rye their home. They raised their two sons, Forrest and Thomas, who attended the Rye public schools, involved themselves in the community and made lifelong friends here in Rye.

As a CPA and lawyer, Bill has had a very successful professional career, including serving as a federal prosecutor, where he prosecuted white-collar crime, and as a forensic accountant and partner at a Big 4 accounting firm, where he consulted with major companies on issues of corporate governance, investigated corporate malfeasance, and helped companies fix problems and operate more effectively. Bill has advised and served on boards of directors and understands what is required to be an engaged and effective leader.

Bill is running for City Council because he wants to give back to Rye, a community where he and his family have made their home, and because he believes he can make a positive contribution to our community.
